How to reference your mix properly

Why does level matching matter for A/B comparison?
Louder always sounds "better" to human ears, even when it isn't. Commercial references are usually mastered hotter than your mix, so without matching, you're comparing loudness, not quality. This tool measures both tracks' integrated LUFS and turns the louder one down to match.
Is my audio uploaded?
No — both files are decoded, measured and played entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves your device, so using commercial reference tracks here is fine.
How should I A/B properly?
Flip fast and often — press A/B (or spacebar) mid-playback and listen for one thing at a time: low-end weight, vocal level, stereo width, top-end brightness. Long gaps between listens reset your ears.
Which reference track should I use?
A professionally released track in your genre that sounds the way you want yours to sound, ideally with similar instrumentation and energy. Keep 2–3 go-to references you know inside out.
